Jagad Guru: Teaching... Teaching itself. The attempt that these guys have, they write articles in these scientific journals, right? And they, they uh, uh, give their lectures at the universities and so on. They're try-, they're promoting, actively promoting, like B.F. Skinner's whole book, Beyond Freedom and Dignity, is an attempt to convince us that we do not exist in these bodies, that there is no self, there is no being within the body using it. There's just a body that engages in complex behavior due to programming, and it therefore appears to have a self in it.

How can a person who does not exist be in the illusion that he exists? The self is the one
who is deluded, okay? So, if he is not there, how can he be deluded? If I'm sitting here,
and here is my friend, Charley, sitting here, right? You know, I got my buddy here, right,
and I'm sitting here, let's say, while I'm giving my talk here, okay? Let's just say I start
talking to Charley. Oh, Charley, what do you think about this talk? What do you think
about what we are saying here? You know. And you all start looking at me a little weird,
you know? (Laughter). Well, you know, the problem is, the problem is Charley, you're in
the illusion that you exist when you really don't. See, that's, that's basically your problem.
(laughter)

So, basically, what the point is that we're, we're uh, coming to understand uh is that there is no material self in the body made of some molecules or chemicals or whatever, okay? Now the materialists have concluded, therefore, since there's only one energy and there is no material self, there is no material being in the body, somewhere looking out. They have concluded that, therefore, there is no self at all. They are the no-self philosophers, okay? But it's so absurd, how can we accept this, you see?
